Many myths about levodopa — the most commonly prescribed Parkinson's medication — abound. Patients regularly tell us they hear levodopa becomes less effective over time or that it always causes dyskinesia (involuntary, uncontrolled movements). Like any other misinformation, these tidbits can become ingrained in a community over time and prevent people from using the drug when necessary.
