Ana Martinez is a full professor at CIB-CSIC, with research interests in drug discovery and medicinal chemistry for neurodegenerative diseases. She has published more than 330 scientific papers in top-tier journals and holds more than 40 patent families. In 2022, she received the Juan de la Cierva National Research Award for technology transfer. From February 2002 to 2008, she was the director of R&D at NeuroPharma, where two of her molecules entered clinical trials as disease-modifying drugs for Alzheimer's disease. Since February 2008, she has been at CSIC, first at IQM-CSIC and then at CIB-CSIC, where she conducts advanced research in a public-private framework. In 2014, she founded ANKAR PHARMA and, in 2024, MOLEFY, where she serves as scientific director. She is a keynote speaker at international conferences, a reviewer for various funding agencies, and she advises biotech companies. Her laboratory is also part of the ERIC EU-OPENSCREEN.
