Professor Corey Hopkins, PhD, is an associate professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, NE. His research is focused on a variety of central nervous system (brain and spinal cord; CNS) disorders, kidney failure and developing novel insecticides. Prior to joining the University of Nebraska Medical Center, Dr. Hopkins was an associate director of medicinal chemistry in the Department of Pharmacology at Vanderbilt's Center for Neuroscience Drug Discovery at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN. Prior to joining Vanderbilt, Dr. Hopkins was a member of the medicinal chemistry departments at Sanofi-Aventis Pharmaceuticals and P&G Pharmaceuticals, where he worked on a number of CNS-related therapeutic targets and inflammation-related targets. Dr. Hopkins received his PhD in organic chemistry in 2002 from the University of Pittsburgh.
