Danny Winder received his BS from North Georgia College in 1990 and his PhD in Neuroscience from Emory University (Dr. P. Jeffrey Conn, advisor) in 1995. After a brief postdoctoral position with Dr. Conn at Emory, Dr. Winder obtained postdoctoral training at Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons in the lab of Dr. Eric Kandel from 1996-1999.
Dr. Winder is director of graduate studies for the Department of Molecular Physiology and Biophysics at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, as well as a Kennedy Center Investigator and scientific director of the Murine Behavioral Core.
The Winder lab is focused on synaptic adaptations occurring under both hypo- and hyper-dopaminergic conditions, focusing on synaptic pathways relevant in Parkinson’s disease and addiction.
