Diana Angelika Olszewska received her MD from Warsaw Medical University, Poland. She received her PhD, which focused on clinical and molecular genetics and biomarkers in Parkinson disease (PD) from University College Dublin, Ireland in 2018. She trained in neurogenetics and laboratory work at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL, where she identified mutation carriers in Irish PD for a possible, future clinical trial enrolment. She undertook her residency training in Ireland, and subsequently completed her clinical movement disorders fellowship at Toronto Western Hospital, Canada. She is currently a staff physician and movement disorders specialist at Cork University Hospital, Cork, Ireland. She is a 2021 graduate of the MDS-LEAP Programme and serves on two steering committees within the MDS: the genetic nomenclature committee and the women in movement disorders committee. Her research investigates noninvasive biomarkers for PD and Multiple System Atrophy and how molecular genetics can contribute to future clinical trials.
