François Tison received his MD (1990), Specialist in Neurology (1990), and PhD (1993) degrees from Bordeaux University. In 1994, he was a visiting research fellow at the Institute of Neurology, Queen Square, London, UK.
Currently, Dr. Tison heads the Movement Disorders Unit and the National Reference Center for Multiple System Atrophy at the University Hospital of Bordeaux. He conducts clinical and translational research activity in the field of movement disorders. He has published over 150 papers in the domain of movement disorders and basal ganglia science and has 10 years' teaching experience in clinical neurology and movement disorders.
Dr. Tison has been a member of the Movement Disorders Society for 15 years and served as officer (treasurer) of the Society’s European Section in 2005-2006.
