Janelle Drouin-Ouellet is a neuroscientist and a Canada Research Chair in Direct Neural Reprogramming. Her work focuses on advancing our understanding of the role of aging in Parkinson’s disease (PD) using cellular reprogramming tools to generate patient-derived cell models. Her expertise in cell culture systems includes direct cell reprogramming to dopamine neurons and astrocytes, stem cell-derived systems of monocytes, macrophages, microglia and astrocytes, as well as stem cell-derived 3D brain organoids.
