Jau-Shin Lou, MD, PhD

Associate Professor of Neurology at Oregon Health and Science University

Jau-Shin Lou is an associate professor in the Department of Neurology at Oregon Health and Science University. He is the director of the motor control laboratory and the director of the EMG laboratory. Dr. Lou received his MD from National Taiwan University and his PhD from University of Minnesota. His PhD thesis title is “The role of the cerebellum in locomotion.� Dr. Lou completed neurology training at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. Following residency, he did a two-year research fellowship in Motor Control and Neurophysiology at NIH with Dr. Mark Hallett. Dr. Lou is the recipient of several grants studying the pathophysiology of PD. He focuses his research in using transcranial magnetic stimulation to investigate the physiological mechanisms of fatigue in PD.
