Dr. Baron is professor of neurology and interim director of the Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders Center at Virginia Commonwealth University Health System and the deputy director of the Southeast PADDREC at the Hunter Holmes McGuire Veterans Medical Center.
Dr. Baron graduated from Emory University and attended medical school at the Medical College of Georgia. He completed neurology training at Boston City Hospital and a motor control research and movement disorders clinical fellowship at Emory University.
Dr. Baron has received research support from the National Institutes of Health and the Department of Veterans Affairs. He has over 25 years of experience in the diagnosis and management of Parkinson disease and related disorders, including experience on eye movement tracking for movement disorders and other neurological disorders. Dr. Baron runs a basic laboratory dedicated to investigations of the pathophysiology of dystonia, Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders.
