Dr. Humphies is vice president and head of drug discovery at Reset Therapeutics, Inc., located in South San Francisco, CA. He received his PhD in organic chemistry from the University of Sheffield in the United Kingdom and conducted postdoctoral research at Florida State University.
Dr. Humphries possesses a broad background in drug discovery, with specific training and expertise in chemistry. He previously worked as a senior principal scientist at Pfizer on numerous drug discovery programs, which resulted in seven Investigational New Drug submissions across four late-stage projects, and was responsible for numerous go/no-go decisions on early-stage projects.
Dr. Humphries leads the orexin program for the treatment of narcolepsy, and has directed the effort to advance the program from conception to the current hit-to-lead stage. He has authored more than 25 scientific articles and holds patents on a wide range of topics/drug targets.
