Philipp Emanuel Geyer is co-founder and managing director of OmicEra Diagnostics GmbH, a biotech company aiming to revolutionize patient care by implementing mass spectrometry (MS)-based proteomics (the large-scale study of proteins) in routine medical diagnostics. His research during his PhD and postdoc in the laboratory of proteomics pioneer Matthias Mann was dedicated to the promises of MS-based plasma proteome profiling. During this time, he contributed to the development of a rapid, robust and highly reproducible automated proteomics workflow with an increased sample throughput and shaped new concepts in biomarker discovery.
Dr. Philipp Emanuel Geyer studied molecular biotechnology at the Technical University of Munich and earned a PhD for his research at the Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry.
