Sebastian Virreira Winter is co-founder and managing director of OmicEra Diagnostics GmbH, a biotech company aiming to revolutionize patient care by implementing mass spectrometry (MS)-based proteomics (the large-scale study of proteins) in routine medical diagnostics. Before his current position, his research focused on innate immune signaling and he contributed to several technological improvements of MS-based proteomics.
Dr. Sebastian Virreira Winter studied molecular biomedicine at the University of Bonn and holds a PhD in immunology from the Humboldt University in Berlin. His research activities took him to the University Clinic of Bonn, the Bayer HealthCare AG, the Whitehead Institute of Biomedical Research, the Max Planck Institute for Infection Biology and the Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry. He is an alumnus of the German Academic Scholarship Foundation and the Boehringer Ingelheim Fonds.
