Dr. Thomas F. Tropea graduated from Tufts University and the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his residency in neurology at NY Presbyterian Hospital-Weill Cornell Medical College and Memorial Sloan-Kettering, where he served as chief resident. He also completed a clinical fellowship, NeuroNEXT fellowship, and research postdoc in movement disorders at the University of Pennsylvania studying biomarkers of cognitive impairment in Parkinson’s disease (PD). He the chief medical officer at the Institute for Neurodegenerative Disorders and an adjunct assistant professor in neurology at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Tropea studies genetics and biomarkers in the development of precision medicine approaches for PD and studies the impact of concomitant neurodegenerative disease pathology in PD and Alzheimer’s disease.
