Tobias S. Ulmer, PhD

Associate Professor at University of Southern California

Location: Los Angeles, CA United States

Dr. Ulmer received his PhD from the University of Oxford after completing his undergraduate work at the University of Zurich. His work focused on the biophysical characterization of biological processes, in particular protein structure, by solution NMR spectroscopy. After completing postdoctoral work at NIH, Dr. Ulmer establishes his research group at the University of Southern California (USC). His work is focused on the folding and misfolding of the protein ?-synuclein, which underlies the molecular chain of events leading to Parkinson disease. Further interest lies in membrane protein, notable transmembrane signaling in the integrin family of cell adhesion receptors.
