Top 2023 Team Fox Fundraisers Shine Bright at Annual MVP Celebration

MVP Attendees at the 2024 MVP Awards Celebration

All of us at The Michael J. Fox Foundation (MJFF) are moved by the unwavering dedication of our Team Fox community. No matter the size of your event or total dollars raised, we deeply appreciate your commitment to accelerating Parkinson’s research. Together, we will find a cure.

On April 6, Team Fox members gathered for MJFF’s annual MVP Awards Celebration in New York City. With the expansion of our Community Fundraising program, MJFF welcomed new faces from both the Parkinson’s Unity Walk and Facebook Fundraising community to the celebration. The event was a joyous reunion for many and a valuable opportunity for both new and seasoned members to connect with peers, mentors, MJFF staff and friends.

The evening featured an array of voices including Debi Brooks, MJFF CEO and Co-Founder; KILI9, the nine-person team who climbed Mount Kilimanjaro last summer; and Team Fox’s longest standing fundraiser, Gail Oliver. To recognize Gail’s two decades of hosting the Mrs. Mo Memorial Golf Tournament in honor of her mother who lived with Parkinson’s and her lasting mark on both our community and our program, MJFF presented her with the second annual Legacy of Impact Award. The top 10 fundraising events in 2023 were also recognized for their outstanding fundraising achievements, which collectively raised $4.7 million. Additional awards were given to select community members, recognizing the growth and impact of our fundraising community. Photos from the evening, including top fundraisers and award recipients, can be found here

Heartfelt thanks to all who attended and to every member of Team Fox who contributed to our largest fundraising year yet, with over $14.2 million dollars raised for Parkinson’s research in 2023. With over 300 guests in attendance, the event served as a powerful reminder of the impact achievable through optimism, community and an unwavering can-do spirit.
