Evelien Lemstra is a practicing neurologist and clinical researcher with more than 15 years of expertise in dementia and movement disorders, with a special focus on Dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB). In 2015, she established the DEvELOP-project, an ongoing longitudinal DLB cohort study that currently includes more than 150 subjects and focuses on prodromal disease, clinical heterogeneity and biomarker development. Her research has contributed to understanding the impact of Alzheimer’s disease pathology in DLB and includes serum amyloid A validation in DLB. DEvELOP is embedded in the Amsterdam Dementia Cohort, which includes imaging and extensive biobanking for more than 6000 subjects. Dr Lemstra is a member of the steering committee of the European DLB Consortium and has ample experience in cohort and biomarker studies, including multiyear collaborations with Professor Charlotte Teunissen.
