Anjali Sivaramakrishnan is a physical therapist with a long-term research goal to develop effective treatments, enhanced with neuroplasticity-promoting interventions, for rehabilitating balance and gait disorders in Parkinson’s disease (PD). She has a special interest in developing exercise interventions for improving postural control, gait, dual-task performance and corticomotor excitability in PD. Based on her clinical and research experience, she strongly believes that there is an urgent need to develop exercise as a targeted intervention for improving motor function in PD. She is a site co-PI for the SPARX3 study, for which she focuses specifically on recruiting Hispanic individuals and improve the outreach of the study to various communities in South Texas.
