Daniela Noain, PhD is a neuroscientist and group leader in the Department of Neurology at the University Hospital Zürich, member of the Steering Committee of the Neuroscience Center Zurich and Policy Lead at the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee of the European Sleep Research Society. Her research focuses on the role of sleep dynamics and protein homeostasis in neurodegenerative disease, with particular relevance to Parkinson’s disease. Her laboratory investigates how slow-wave sleep modulation influences pathogenic protein accumulation, using neurophysiological, molecular, and behavioral approaches in preclinical models. By developing innovative, non-invasive sleep-based interventions, her work aims to uncover mechanisms that can be leveraged for translational therapeutic strategies.
