Emily Wang, PhD, CCC-SLP, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Communication Disorders and Sciences and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Otolaryngology and Bronchoesophagology at Rush Medical College of Rush University, and a licensed practitioner in Speech-Language Pathology at Rush University Medical Center, in Chicago, Illinois. She also is an Adjunct Associate Professor in the School of Kinesiology at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Dr. Wang received her clinical training and her master's degree in Speech Language Pathology from the University of Connecticut in 1992. She was trained as a speech scientist at the renowned Haskins Laboratories, Yale University, and received her PhD from the University of Connecticut in 1995. Dr. Wang's clinical and research interest is in the motor speech disorders associated with neurodegenerative diseases, with a primary emphasis on Parkinson's disease. She works closely with neurologists specialized in movement disorders. She has presented at national and international conferences and published a number of papers on pharmacological and surgical effects on speech and voice functions in Parkinson's disease.
