Eric Deneault, PhD, is a research scientist at Health Canada. He received his BSc in biotechnology from the University of Sherbrooke, Canada, and he obtained his MSc in veterinary sciences and a PhD in molecular biology from the University of Montreal. He then joined the Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto, Canada as a postdoctoral researcher in genetics before joining the Montreal Neurological Institute (The Neuro), McGill University, Canada as a research associate working with Dr. Thomas Durcan in the Neuro’s early drug discovery unit (EDDU). In his current research, Dr. Deneault is using induced pluripotent stem cells and CRISPR gene-editing techniques as a model to study genetic variants involved in various neurological pathologies, including autism spectrum disorder and Parkinson’s disease.
