Fu-Sen Liang, PhD, is an assistant professor in the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology at the University of New Mexico. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry in 1994 at the National Taiwan University, his Master of Science degree in Applied Chemistry in 1996 at the National Chiao Tung University, and his PhD in Bioorganic Chemistry under advisor Dr. Chi-Huey Wong in 2005 at the Scripps Research Institute, La Jolla. From 2006-2011, Dr. Liang worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the Stanford Medical School under mentor Dr. Gerald Crabtree on epigenetics and chemical biology. He then became a faculty member of the University of New Mexico in 2012. Dr. Liang’s research focuses on using interdisciplinary strategies to develop novel research tools and therapeutics to study and treat neurodegenerative diseases.
