Jessie Bakker, PhD, is vice president of digital measures and diagnostics at the Digital Medicine Society (DiMe), lecturer within the Division of Sleep Medicine at Harvard Medical School and associate epidemiologist at Brigham and Women’s Hospital (part-time). Dr. Bakker has extensive experience in the development, validation and deployment of digital measurement tools in clinical trials within both academic and industry settings, as well as an in-depth understanding of regulatory evidentiary requirements for digital health technologies. Her role at DiMe focuses on digital measures development aligned to specific therapeutic areas and health concepts, alongside evidence-based recommendations for best practices and methodologies such as the V3 Framework. A graduate of the University of Otago, New Zealand, Dr. Bakker completed her postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard Medical School in 2013 and subsequently joined the teaching and research faculty, specializing in epidemiological studies and clinical trials in sleep medicine.
