Meritxell Canals (Barcelona, August 26th, 1976) is currently holding a Post-Doctoral position at the University of Glasgow in Prof. Graeme Milligan’s group. After graduating in Biochemistry at the University of Barcelona, she did her Ph.D. at the same university, working on the study of interactions between adenosine and
dopamine receptors in which she integrated new biophysical approaches in the study of protein-protein interactions. After her Ph.D. she moved to the Neuroscience Department of the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm to continue her work in Gprotein coupled receptor (GPCR) interactions and interacting partners in Prof. Kjell Fuxe’s group. Once in Prof. Milligan’s lab she has focused her research interests in the characterization of functional interactions among different GPCRs and the pharmacological and biochemical outcomes that such interactions may involve.
