Dr. Narayanan graduated from Yale Medical School in 2008 with dual MD/PhD degrees before completing his residency and post-doctoral fellowship at Yale. He joined the Neurology faculty at the University of Iowa in 2012, and his work as a clinician and a scientist have revolved around providing optimal care for patients with Parkinson’s. Specifically, Dr. Narayanan’s research in Parkinson’s is focused on mapping neural circuits that malfunction in the brain and impair higher-order cognitive processes. This work is illuminating novel pathways that will aid in the development of novel and highly specific treatments for patients with Parkinson’s.
