Dr. Ram Bhatt holds a PhD in Medicinal Chemistry from Queen Elizabeth College, London, UK. He has more than 35 years of scientific and executive experience in the biotechnology industry with 32 peer-reviewed publications and more than 25 patents. He has led teams of exceptional scientists at various organizations to develop innovative technologies which have resulted in genome and proteome based commercial diagnostic and therapeutic products. Dr. Bhatt founded ICB International, Inc., in October of 2008 and developed proprietary technology to breach the hitherto impermeable blood-brain barrier (BBB) for developing diagnostic biomarkers for neurodegenerative disorders with a long-term goal to develop non-invasive disease modifying therapeutics for Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s diseases. This technology has been unequivocally shown to breach BBB in transgenic pre-clinical models by a noted UCSD neuroscientist. Dr. Bhatt is an expert in product development and project management, and is highly experienced in the methodology required for this proposal
