Raul R. Gainetdinov, MD, PhD, is an Assistant Research Professor in the Department of Cell Biology, Duke University, Durham, NC. In 1996, he joined the laboratory of Marc G. Caron in the Department of Cell Biology and became faculty at Duke in 2000. From 1988-1996 he conducted research at the Institute of Pharmacology Russian Academy of Medical Sciences, Moscow, Russia. He received a PhD degree in Pharmacology in 1992 from the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences and an MD degree in 1988 from the Second Moscow Medical Institute, Moscow, Russia. His major research interests focus on monoaminergic signaling in experimental animal models of brain pathology (ADHD, schizophrenia, addiction, Parkinson's disease). Gainetdinov has authored more than 100 publications.
