New Film Chronicles MJFF's 25 Years of Impact on Parkinson's Research

For 25 years, The Michael J. Fox Foundation (MJFF) has helped fill a critical void in Parkinson’s disease (PD) research — turning early ambition into real, measurable impact. Our latest short film, Making a Difference in 25 Years, written and directed by Nelle Fortenberry, Michael J. Fox's producing partner and founding MJFF Board member, highlights the work that has advanced our patient-centered mission and the growing momentum driving what comes next. Narrated by MJFF’s Co-Founder and CEO Debi Brooks, the film reflects on Michael’s vision to bring urgency and innovation to the field — and the ongoing progress that continues to shape our role in finding a cure.

Since inception, our approach has been consistent: invest in promising science, promote collaboration and bring urgency and innovation. These efforts have changed what’s possible in PD research — deepening understanding of the disease and delivering meaningful steps forward for people living with Parkinson’s. Today, new scientific insights are building on these prior discoveries, shaping how Parkinson’s biology is viewed and opening paths toward earlier detection and better treatment.

You can play an important role in what comes next. Participating in research, whether you have Parkinson’s or not, fuels the insights that move science forward. By making a donation, you can help build on 25 years of progress and drive the next breakthrough.
