The evolution of our understanding of genetics’ role in Parkinson’s disease (PD) and how that understanding will translate into drug discovery is the topic of a new podcast and upcoming Webinar.
“We’ve really started to get a handle on finding parts of the genome that confer risk for disease,” said Dr. Andrew Singleton, senior investigator with the National Institute on Aging and a member of The Michael J. Fox Foundation (MJFF) Scientific Advisory Board.
Dr. Singleton spoke with MJFF Contributing Editor Dave Iverson for the latest in the MJFF Parkinson’s Podcast series. They’ll be joined by Dr. Brian Fiske, MJFF vice president of research programs, for a “Genetics and Parkinson's Disease” Hot Topics Webinar on September 24 from 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm (ET).
“Our progress is getting quicker and quicker. I’m really excited about starting to translate those findings into a cure,” Dr. Singleton said. “I’m sure we can get there. I wouldn’t do this job if I didn’t think that.”
