In this audio from our Third Thursdays Webinar, Stephanie Paddock, vice president of community outreach & events at The Michael J. Fox Foundation (MJFF), leads a discussion on tips for building connections in the Parkinson’s community.
Panelists include:
- Indu Subramanian, MD, a neurologist who explains why loneliness and isolation can happen in Parkinson’s and offers guidance on managing these symptoms.
- Lance Wilson, a neuroscience medical social worker who shares advice on navigating Parkinson’s and resources available and the importance of a support system.
- Lynn Hagerbrant, an MJFF Patient Council member, who describes how and why she started a support group in her local community in Connecticut called “Shakers Anonymous.”
- Ned Neuhaus, an active Team Fox member and Rock Steady Boxing coach, who discusses how his Parkinson’s diagnosis helped him open up and create community connections. Ned talks about his participation in the Parkinson’s Buddy Network, an online community of people impacted by Parkinson’s — those living with the disease, their loved ones and caregivers.
The Parkinson’s Buddy Network is designed to help you make meaningful connections, engage in important dialogue, find useful resources and build long-lasting relationships. Join our community today at parkinsonsbuddynetwork.org.
