Dawn Bowers, PhD, is a Professor and clinical/research neuropsychologist in the Departments of Clinical and Health Psychology and Neurology at the University of Florida. She is a UF Research Foundation Professor, the Director of the Cognitive Neuroscience Laboratory at the McKnight Brain Institute, and the area head of the Neuropsychology division within the Department of Clinical and Health Psychology (www.phhp.ufl.edu/neuropsy). She received her Ph.D. from the University of Florida, interned at the Boston Veterans Administration Hospital, and completed a post-doctoral fellowship in behavioral neurology/neuropsychology at the University of Florida. Dr. Bowers serves on the Editorial Boards of the Journal of the International Neuropsychological Society and The Clinical Neuropsychologist and provides peer review for various NIH and VAMC research panels. She has over 100 research publications, over 200 peer-reviewed research presentations, 1 book, and 1 clinical test (Florida Affect Battery). She is strongly committed to research mentoring and currently has 7 doctoral students, 1 post-doctoral fellow, numerous undergraduates, and even a high school student in her laboratory. She has been continously funded by NIH since 1981, and currently heads up an NIH grant to examine facial inexpressivity and the treatment of masked faces in Parkinson disease.
