As a practicing neuropathologist for over 30 years, Dr. James E. Goldman has a strong background in central nervous system (CNS) pathology and a great interest and broad expertise in the cellular and molecular pathology of neurological diseases. As a research scientist, Dr. Goldman has also studied CNS glial cells over his career, focusing on astrocyte and oligodendrocyte development and their pathological changes in neurological diseases. His current work includes the use of fresh frozen human brain tissue from the NY Brain Bank at Columbia University Medical Center to investigate gene expression of individual cell types in Huntington Disease and other neurological disorders.
