Roger Barker, BA, MBBS, MRCP, PhD, is the Professor of Clinical Neuroscience at the University of Cambridge and Consultant Neurologist at the Addenbrooke’s Hospital Cambridge. He is a PI in the MRC-Wellcome Trust Stem Cell Institute in Cambridge and Director of the MRC funded UKRMP Stem and Engineered cell hub. He is Vice President of the World Parkinson Coalition and Co-Editor in Chief of the Journal of Neurology.

Dr. Barker trained in Oxford, London and Cambridge and his research seeks to better define the clinical heterogeneity of Parkinson’s disease (PD) and its basis. This has helped him define the best way by which to take new therapies into the clinic including leading on novel gene and cell-based therapies for patients with PD. He is part of a global initiative (GFORCE-PD) that is seeking to take stem cells to trial in PD.
