For me, All Grit. No Quit. is like those last two-tenths of a mile in a marathon. You want to quit, but thousands are cheering for you, so you keep going.
My hope is we can get more African Americans, more people of color to get involved in the research, to trust the process when it comes to this.
When people come together with intention, we can become a force for good.
When you know your gift can create real impact, it brings you joy — and that’s exactly how I feel supporting this research.
It’s one thing to read about Parkinson’s, and another to hear our stories. That’s why I believe it’s so important for patients to be heard directly, not just represented secondhand, and I hope to bring that perspective to the NPP Advisory Council.
Parkinson’s is not going to get us. We’re going to get it.
When it comes to giving back, I feel like it’s my duty as a citizen of the world, because when it comes to ending Parkinson’s, we’re all in this together.
I feel the need to contribute to research and help with the process if I can. That’s how you’re going to understand what the signs and indicators are, by tracking people.
